Stephen Colbert Takes Over For David Letterman The Late Show


Congratulations is in order! Stephen Colbert will be replacing David Letterman on the Late Show.

The awesome announcement was made Wednesday night with  a statement from Colbert “Simply being a guest on David Letterman’s show has been a highlight of my career. I never dreamed that I would follow in his footsteps, though everyone in late night follows Dave’s lead.”

Colbert and CBS inked a five-year deal to take over for David Letterman in 2015. There is no specific date has been given as of yet for Letterman’s last show.

“Stephen Colbert is one of the most inventive and respected forces on television,” said CBS President Les Moonves. “David Letterman’s legacy and accomplishments are an incredible source of pride for all of us here, and today’s announcement speaks to our commitment of upholding what he established for CBS in late night.”
